First Aid Training

Here at Total Safety, we offer a variety of first aid courses so you can always find a course that will meet the needs of you and your business. All our first aid courses are taught by licensed medical professionals with extensive knowledge and experience, to ensure that we are providing you with the best quality training possible. We run courses at our training facility regularly throughout the year, and we can also provide these courses on-site if needed.

Every Employer must ensure there are adequate qualified personnel and/or first aid equipment in the place of work to allow an immediate response to an emergency situation. Therefore, it may also be necessary to have at least one person trained to the level of EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK.

This level of training is delivered by combination of a theoretical presentation and practical training using simulators, over a period of six hours. Delegates will be given instruction on basic life support to enable them to manage a situation and make an informed decision on an appropriate course of action.

Depending on your work-place-risk you may need to provide at least one member of staff who is qualified in FIRST AID AT WORK. This qualification is more comprehensive than the level 2 qualification and is achieved by attending a three-day course which concludes in a technical and practical assessment.

The course will cover dealing with medical emergencies, incident management, diagnosing and treating fractures, strains and sprains, a basic understanding of the respiratory and circulatory systems including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as well as the important legal requirements of reporting and recording accidents.

This regulated first aid qualification is specific to infants aged under 1, and children aged from 1 year old to the onset of puberty.

It fulfils the requirements of the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as issued by the department for Education and Skills Foundation Stage relating to Early Years childcare. This Level 3 qualification is an extended version of the Emergency Paediatric First Aid.

Supply of Automatic External Defibrillators and full training package available – from £1000 + vat (RRP £1395 + VAT).

We provide both initial and refresher courses for users of AEDs in the workplace.

Increase a casualty’s survival chance from 5% to 80% by providing trained AED users and equipment in your workplace.

First aid practices are an evolving and dynamic art form which develops as our knowledge increases. It is also likely staff will not need to practice the more complex matters of first aid on a daily basis. Therefore, personnel are recommended to attend a refresher course every three years to update and re-qualify. EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK refresher courses are of six hours duration and qualified FIRST AID AT WORK refresher courses are of two days including a re-assessment.
