First Aid

Emergency First Aid at Work, Appointed Persons, Paediatric First Aid - Courses form only £40 per person at your site. Through our memebrship of The Association of First Aiders, we are able to monitor changes in legislation and practice as recommended by the Health and Safety Executive and The Resuscitation Council to ensure the training we provide is as up to date as possible.

Emergency Aid

As an absolute minimum, the HSE recommends, that following a Risk Assessment, an employer must provide at least one person in their employment with a level of training that would allow an immediate response to an emergency situation. If you have up to 50 employees you should have at least one person trained to the level of  ‘EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK’. When selecting who to train, employers must consider the availability, location and flexibility of the individuals concerned paying particular attention to the continuity of the business. It is therefore recommended that several employees are trained to this standard to allow for non-availability due to sickness, leave and work commitments.

This level of training is delivered by combination of a theoretical presentation and practical training using simulators, over a period of six hours. Delegates will be given instruction on basic life support to enable them to manage a situation and make an informed decision on an appropriate course of action.

Delegates will be issued with a certificate following completion.

First Aid at Work

If your business employs more than 50 people, or you simple want to provide an increased level of protection for your staff, you need to provide at least one member of staff who is qualified as a first-aider.

Qualification is achieved by attending a FIRST AID AT WORK COURSE, held over four days, concluding in a technical and practical assessment. The course will cover dealing with medical emergencies, incident management, diagnosing and treating fractures, strains and sprains, a basic understanding of the respiratory and circulatory systems including cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as well as the important legal requirements of reporting and recording accidents.

Delegates who successfully complete the assessment will be awarded certificates.

Refresher Training

First aid practices are an evolving and dynamic art form which develops as our knowledge increases. It is also likely staff will not need to practice the more complex matters of first aid on a daily basis. Therefore, personnel are recommended to attend a refresher course very three years to update and re-qualify. EMERGENCY FIRST AT WORK refresher courses are of six hours duration and qualified FIRST AT WORK refresher courses are of two days including a re-assessment.
